Coach Wilder gradually developed Adam through his prep years and helped Adam earn a scholarship to Presbyterian College, but transferred to Winthrop University to work under Coach Ben Paxton. Coach Paxton developed Adam into a 14:32 5000m runner and school record holder in the 3000m (8:23 at the Big South Conference Championships 2012).

In his time at Winthrop University, Adam earned 2 All-Conference Honors in Cross Country (2010, 2011), 3 All-Conference  Honors in Indoor Track (5000m-2011, 3000m-2012, 5000m-2012), and 1 All-Conference Honor in Outdoor Track (10000m-2012).

After leaving Winthrop University, Adam took a short hiatus from running, but soon connected with Coach Mike Caldwell and ASICS/GTC-Elite based in Greenville, SC. Together over the course of two years, the duo lowered Adam’s Personal Bests in every event the harrier ran under Coach Caldwell.

Deciding to go back to his roots in Spartanburg, SC, Adam is driven to attack the next few years with a fiery passion to achieve his goals.
